It’s time for another realization. A single-family house with a usable area of 235 m2 in the Małopolska town of Buków.
In the village of Buków, in the Mogilany municipality, Mr. Karol decided to build his house. The single-family house with a usable area of 235 m2 was built in a modern style, based on simple blocks with a beautiful view of the nearby Beskid Wyspowy. On a plot of 1008 m2 stood a building with a built-up area of 172.79 m2.
Foundations
The foundations were placed on footings b=40-70 cm at a depth of -1.26 m to -4.31 m from the zero level. The foundation walls and basement walls were made of concrete blocks poured and reinforced vertically with 12 mm diameter rod and horizontally with 10 mm every layer.
Uninsulated foundation walls were protected with Dysperbit insulation (0,5 cm). The foundation walls of the garage – with thermo-welded felt (2,0 cm).
The floor on the ground was set on rubble concrete (20 cm). First 10 cm of sand was compacted, then a reinforced concrete subfloor (10 cm) was made. Heat-welded felt x2 and FS 20 polystyrene (5 cm) were installed. A cement screed reinforced with mesh (8 cm) was made, adhesive mortar was applied and the surface was finished with ceramic tiles.
The terrace on the ground, which was finished with concrete pavers, was first protected with a gravel and sand ballast (30 cm), and then underlaid with sand.
Walls
The two-layer external walls were made of Porotherm ceramic block (25 cm). They were then insulated with 20 cm Styrofoam with a heat transfer coefficient of U=0.20 W/m2k. Inside, the exterior walls were plastered with cement-lime plaster (1.5 cm), while the exterior was plastered with mineral plaster (0.5 cm).
The interior walls were built with 12 cm thick truss bricks.
The garage wall above the foundation was made of poured concrete block (25 cm). Inside, it was plastered with cement-lime plaster (1.5 cm). On the outside, the walls were insulated with 10 cm thick Styrofoam (U=0.20 W/m2k) and mineral plaster (0.5 cm) was applied.
Ceiling
The ceiling over the first floor was made of a 16-centimeter thick reinforced concrete slab. FS 20 polystyrene foam with a thickness of 5 cm was laid. Then a cement screed (5 cm) reinforced with mesh was poured and ceramic tiles and parquet were laid with glue. On the first floor side, the ceiling was finished with cement-lime plaster (1.5 cm).
The ceiling above the first floor was made with GKF boards on a grid. A two-centimeter air void was left, a vapor barrier was installed and insulated with 30 cm thick mineral wool. The top of the ceiling was finished with boards (3.2 cm).
Terrace over the garage
The terrace was also made of a reinforced concrete slab (18 cm) and a layer of concrete with a 1% slope (8-2 cm). Styrodur (10 cm), underlayment, thermo-weldable membrane, geotextile and a layer of gravel were laid. Everything was finished with Terazzo 40×40 cm pressure plates.
First floor
The usable area on the first floor is 105,57 m2. The vestibule takes up 3,68 m2, the dressing room 3,10 m2. The living room and dining room have taken up most of the space, as they occupy 35,02 m2. On the first floor we can also find a kitchen (17,29 m2), a study (15,26 m2), a bathroom (6,30 m2) and a boiler room (9 m2). We will move between the rooms through a corridor (15,92 m2).
Roof
The roof truss was made of wood in a purlin-and-rafter system. The rafters were laid and the spaces between them were insulated with 30 cm thick mineral wool and U=0.135 W/m2K<0.18 W/m2K. The roof slope was made of counter-battens (2.5 cm) and roof battens (3.5 cm). Anthracite-colored seamed metal sheet was laid. PVC gutters and downpipes in the color of the covering were installed.
