Another project that relies on a modern solution, such as a heat pump. In addition, we insulated the house and installed photovoltaics.

Ms. Barbara from Maków Podhalański lives in a single-family building that needed thermal modernization. In addition to erecting houses from scratch, Energetic Project also repairs and improves existing ones. This one required replacing the heat source, but also insulating and lowering electricity bills.

Heat pump

Ms. Barbara has so far used a kitchen stove and a coal-fired boiler. The power of such a boiler is about 20 kW. There is 260 m2 of floor space of the building to be heated. The building did not have a storage tank for DHW.

The coal boiler has been replaced with a modern LG S TV 12kW 3F split type heat pump with a capacity for A7/W35 of 12kW. The manufacturer’s warranty is five years. It was installed with the necessary connecting hardware and a DHW tank with a capacity of 300 liters. In addition, Ms. Barbara’s home also received a 200-liter buffer, a dirt separator and an Internet module.

The cost of the pump, including its installation, was PLN 54,500.

Insulation

Ms. Barbara’s house was built with cement blocks with a total wall thickness of 41 cm. The total measurement of the walls with window and door carpentry is 365 m2.

EPS S-033 Ecoline Fasada Plus with a thickness of 10cm is the Styrofoam that covered the facades of the building. In addition, external steel – smooth sills were installed.

The cost of the insulation reached PLN 100,000.

Photovoltaics

To reduce the costs coming from the power plant, Ms. Barbara also bet on a photovoltaic installation.

10 pieces of photovoltaic modules were installed on a 35-degree multi-pitch roof, which is covered with ceramic tiles. They opted for JaSolar 380W with a manufacturer’s warranty for 12/25 years.

The heart of the installation, the inverter, is a FoxEss T8 with a twelve-year warranty. Also used was a tile mounting system, AD and DC wiring, along with protection. The entire installation has 3.8 kWp of power.

The cost of such an installation was PLN 20,000.

Funding

The Clean Air Program is once again providing financial assistance to those who want to modernize their homes. Ms. Barbara, through the Energy Project, received up to PLN 136,200, including an amount in the form of an advance payment of PLN 68,100.

Before and After

The insulated exterior walls have reduced their heat transfer coefficient from 0.78 W/m2K to 0.17 W/m2K.

Calculated thermal power of the heating system – before: 28.47 kW, after: 13.36 kW.

The annual calculated energy consumption for heating the building decreased from 431 GJ/year to 40.36 GJ/year!
